14016: BHM 2018—Nickelodeon.

Campaign spotlighted a BHM video series from Nickelodeon—which appears to have cost more than a nickel.

Kids take the spotlight in Nickelodeon’s Black History Month celebration

The rich African-American culture is told through children in Nickelodeon’s celebration of Black History Month. In three recently released YouTube videos, kids explore the deep well of African history including music, education and soul food. The mini-series, shot by Station Film’s director Seyi Peter-Thomas, uses Charleston, South Carolina, and its slaving history as a poignant backdrop. “Our creative goal was to highlight a series of real-world settings that trace the historical origins of significant African American cultural traditions that resonate today,” said Tony Maxwell, SVP creative director of Nickelodeon.
